Bio
Hi, I’m Gabriela Paludi, born and based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
My artistic journey began at a very young age, attending drawing, painting, and printmaking workshops, until I enrolled at the Prilidiano Pueyrredón National School of Fine Arts.
At the National University of the Arts (UNA), I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts with a focus on Painting, and completed a Postgraduate Program in Media and Technologies for Pictorial Production.
I’m always eager to learn from other artists and disciplines. I took part in the “El Encarne” meetings for the development of contemporary sculpture projects at IMPA.
Throughout my career, I’ve explored various techniques: painting, drawing, object art, assemblage, screen printing, stencil. Today, I mainly work with analog collage.
I’m naturally curious and restless; I enjoy mixing languages and choosing resources based on what I want to express. I’m passionate about the freedom art gives me, and I believe that in the realm of creation, there are no limits.
Sagrados y Profanos (Sacred and Profane) stems from my exploration of human nature and how we build realities through beliefs, symbols, objects, and devotions that shape our existence. I wonder: what is sacred, what is profane, and how do both coexist in every area of our lives?
In collage and assemblage, I see the image or object in its original context as sacred. Once removed from that context and reinterpreted, it becomes profane.
Each collage is a small ritual. A critique. An emotion condensed into images. And you—what does it awaken in you?
